Lisbon is wonderful city with a rich history, full of contrast and character. It’s one of Europe's most soulful, captivating and picturesque capitals, built on seven hills with scenic vistas from every angle.

A city that effortlessly blends traditional heritage with striking modernism. A charming visual time-warp with vintage trams and characterful neighbourhoods where you can enjoy a stroll along a myriad of narrow cobblestone streets. It is a super laid-back city and every neighbourhood has a different vibe.

With so much to offer and amazing light it’s no wonder Lisbon is a travel photographers dream.

During the tour we will spend time in the very different neighbourhoods around the centre as well as visiting Belem, a jewel in Lisbon’s crown, with its UNESCO World Heritage rated Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery and fabulous modern architecture. We will also spend time in Parque das Nações (Park of Nations) designed to accommodate the World Expo of 1998. Strikingly modern, it contrasts beautifully with the historical appearance of central Lisbon. We will shoot the amazing Vasco da Gama Bridge - the longest bridge in the European Union, at 17,000m long, it’s a fabulous place to enjoy and photograph the sunrise.

We will stay in a comfortable hotel centrally located to provide easy access to all the main locations.

In order to make the most of the light we will be out most days for sunrise, before returning to the hotel for breakfast and to recharge. We’ll then set out again on more photographic adventures. There will of course be plenty of refreshment stops during the day and an early dinner before shooting sunset.

Our hotel is centrally located, a perfect base for exploring the city. There is quite a lot of walking on this tour and Lisbon is hilly. Whilst we use public transport to move around there is inevitably some uphill walking. A moderate degree of fitness is recommended.

This is a four day Tour with five nights’ accommodation (11th – 15th September).
