Peak District Heather
August 15th (FULL) & 19th 2024 (FULL)
Please contact me to go on Waiting List
Each year, for about three weeks in August, parts of the Peak District are transformed into a riot of purple and pink colour when the heather bursts into bloom. It really is a sight to behold and this workshop is designed to help you make the most of it.
The workshop will be based in the north of the Peak District, around Hathersage, where there are some fabulous locations including wide sweeping vistas, impressive gritstone edges and more intimate scenes that capture the true magic of the area at this time of year.
In order to make the most of the better light in the late afternoon and evening we will meet at 12.30pm , have an initial chat over a coffee before heading out for the rest of the day. We will have a break late afternoon and shoot through to sunset finishing around 8.30pm.
Throughout the day we will look at techniques such as working with the light, composition, focusing, understanding your camera settings, exposing correctly, using filters, bracketing and creative techniques as well a general landscape workflow.
GROUP SIZE
A maximum group size of four means there will be plenty of 121 tuition time ensuring that you get the most out of the day. Space is limited so book early!
EXPERIENCE | DIFFICULTY
Level of physical difficulty: 3 out of 5 (Moderate)
We will be visiting around three locations and whilst this won’t involve extensive distances we will be walking up and down stream valleys and up onto one of the gritstone edges. The ground is uneven and care is required walking over stones and boulders and looking out for tree roots.
